The Ravages of Time

After peaking at nearly seven million in 1935, the number of farms in the United States has declined rapidly since to fewer than two million today. The ruins shown here are all that remains of generations of hard work, closeness to the land, and self-sufficiency. Some of these places are still in use, but I’m sure that their days are numbered.
