The original mill was housed in the wood building on the right. It evolved into an industrial center that included, at various times, a woolen mill, a saw mill, and production-line woodworking. In 1969, a devastating fire set by arsonists ended nearly three centuries of milling at Greenbank. After a long reconstruction and restoration effort, the mill complex was reopened as a museum in 2002.
