The first three images in this gallery show the actual cars that starred in the movie American Graffiti – a 1932 Ford Coupe, a 1956 Ford Thunderbird, a 1955 Chevy, and a 1958 Chevrolet Impala. The movie, directed by George Lucas and set in 1962, was made in 1973 and is credited with reviving the hot rod culture of the early 1950s. Hot rodding has been going strong ever since, and the photos here, taken at recent car shows, present some nice examples of the car customizer’s craft.
