The M&H is a short-line railroad (11 miles) that was built in 1890 and was part of the Reading Railroad until 1976. Since then, it has provided local freight service, which continues today. Tourist passenger trains were initiated in 1986, some of them behind a steam engine (former Canadian National 2-6-0 mogul) that, unfortunately, was locked up in its engine house on the day I visited.
