"The Greatest Meeting of Land and Water in the World"
That quotation refers to the dramatic, rocky coast of the Big Sur area, but the whole length of the California coast is strikingly beautiful. The images in this gallery portray that beauty along the 470 mile distance from Point Reyes north of San Francisco to Laguna Beach south of Los Angeles. There’s also a short detour inland to Muir Woods, which will have its own gallery as soon as I can return there on a day when it’s not pouring rain – though I kind of like the misty feeling and the saturated colors in the rain-soaked photos included here.
