The Durango and Silverton is a narrow-gauge (3 foot) tourist railroad that operates on 45.2 miles of track between its namesake towns in Colorado. This track was part of the Denver and Rio Grande Railway (D&RG) and has been in continuous use since 1881. Some of the rolling stock dates back to the 1880s; the steam-powered locomotives used today were built in the 1920s.
