The Sands casino is the centerpiece of a redevelopment plan for the site that includes gambling, shopping, restaurants, and a token “industrial history” museum. Where the inhabitants of this offshoring-ravaged region will get the cash to spend (or lose) at this new Disney-like extravaganza is anyone’s guess.
